All One Family: Fighting for LGBT Equality in Maryland’s Black Community
Bowie State University, the Eyes Wide Shut LGBTQA Student Organization, and the Social Work Club at BSU are teaming up with the Black Family Alliance to host a forum and panel discussion on “All One Family: Fighting for LGBT Equality in Maryland’s Black Community”, and we would really like your support.
Bowie State University is the 2nd oldest Historically Black University in the Country. It was established in 1865 and within the past 3 years it has had a revolution in regards to LGBT support with the forming of the 1st LGBTQA student organization and now receiving support from the University President and Cabinet to allow the development and implementation of our 1st LGBTQA Resource Center which will be spearheaded by an advisory board of faculty, staff, student, alumni and community activists.
“All One Family: Fighting for LGBT Equality in Maryland’s Black Community” is only our first of many forums, panels, roundtables and fun events at BSU.
The event is on Tuesday, October 28, 2008 from 3:30 to 6 pm.
