March 12 - MEGA LGBT Networking and Social Event at Town

Mark your calendars for the Largest LGBT professional networking and social event ever. On March 12, 2009, PEN, DC's LGBT Chamber of Commerce, and Town Danceboutique have invite GAYLAW members to join with dozens of other LGBT networking and professional groups to mix, mingle and have a great time. The best part… it is free. No cover. Complimentary appetizers and a cash bar will be available. Other groups invited to join in the fun include Burgundy Crescent, Federal GLOBE, DC Out and Equal, Gertrude Stein Club, Team DC, DC Icebreakers, GATT, Accenture, Homo Hotel Happy Hour, Anywhere Goes, Dulles Triangles and the NOVA Gay and Lesbian Professionals Meet-Up.

The Mega Networking and Social Event is scheduled for March 12 at Town Danceboutique, 2009 8th Street NW, DC (Metro Green Line to U Street, Vermont exit to 10th street, 2 blocks on the right) from 6:30 to 8:30 PM. Grab a friend or two and join us.

March 25 - 2009 GW Lambda Networking Reception

Employer Annoucement: The George Washington University Law School (GW) and the GW Chapter of Lambda Law are proud to announce our Third Annual Joint GLBT and 1L Networking Reception. This event will take place on Wednesday, March 25, 2009 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. in the City View Room at 1957 E St. , NW, The Elliott School , at The George Washington University. This year, we are extending an invitation to area law schools' GLBT students and affiliates! This raises the bar for the event, making this the premier DC Metro Area GLBT Networking Reception.

We would like to invite your openly gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender (GLBT) and allied attorneys to attend this important event. This reception will provide one of the last opportunities this semester for your organization to build recognition among area GLBT and GW 1L students and affiliates. This event will help students refine their networking skills and encourage them to begin thinking about their participation in their schools' 2009 Fall Recruitment Programs before they become overwhelmed with exam preparation.

Last year, over 65 attorneys representing 30 employers from both the public and private sectors, and more than 100 first-year law students attended the reception. This networking reception event has been profiled in national publications including> Diversity & The Bar (MCCA) (http://www.mcca.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=page.viewpage&pageid=1497). This year we look forward to working with you to build upon our past success. Your active support of this event, both through your openly GLBT attorneys' attendance, and/or your financial sponsorship, will demonstrate your organization's commitment to GLBT diversity in the legal community and will provide you with the opportunity to market your organization not only to our students, but to other law schools as well.

From 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. , there will be a special reception open only to area GLBT/Lambda students. Lambda is an organization for openly GLBT and allied law students. At 7:30 p.m., we will open the reception to those GW 1L students who pre-registered for this event. Light appetizers and alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages will be served.
