Rally Against Virginia AG Cuccinelli's Proposal to Remove Sexual Orientation from School Nondiscrimination Policies

The students at George Mason Law are organizing a protest to occur at the same time as Virginia Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli is scheduled to appear on campus to talk about his opinion letter advising public Virginia Universities to delete sexual orientation from their nondiscrimination policies. Please consider attending the rally or passing the word on to those who might be interested. Any support on Tuesday, March 23 would be much appreciated. Details at the Facebook event page. Panelists Needed for “Media’s Impact on the LGBT Community” Event

The American University Washington College of Law’s Lambda Law Society is looking for panelists for our “Media’s Impact on the LGBT Community” event. This panel is co-sponsored with the Communications and Media Law Society, the Latino/a Law Student Association, and The Modern American, a publication dedicated to diversity and the law.

The discussion will cover topics that include historical developments of the LGBT community represented in the media, LGBT-targeted media defamation, and the role of the media in changing social opinions regarding the LGBT community.

The event will be held on an afternoon in mid-April 2010 at American University’s Washington College of Law in Washington, D.C.

Tentative agenda includes:
1. Introduction 15 minutes
2. Panel (6 people) 60 - 80 minutes
3. Question & Answer 15 minutes
4. Reception 60 minutes
